Caring for your candle can have a positive effect on the potential burn time and ensure that you enjoy for longer.

  • Always light and extinguish your candle with care keeping away from hair and loose clothing.
  • Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time.
  • To remove any dust use a nylon cloth or a damp cloth.
  • Never use a candle if oxygen is used in the home.
  • Trim the wick to 0.5 cm before each use. This will help prevent soot and extend the life of the candle.
  • Keep candles away from Children and Pets.
  • Keep candles away from draughts as this causes uneven burning.
  • Keep candles at least 30 cm away from curtains or anything around the candle that could ignite. Keep in mind that curtains and other objects can move and come into contact with a burning flame.
  • Always keep candles in sight when in use and don’t leave unsupervised. Diffusers are useful when you want home fragrance but cannot keep an eye on the candle.
  • Never move a burning candle, wax will become liquid when lit and can be extremely hot.  Allow the candle to cool and solidify before moving.
  • Glass heats up during use, therefore it is advisable to place a candle on a heat resistant surface, preferably using a candle plate.
  • If wick develops a mushroom carbon too, extinguish the candle, allow completely to cool and remove the tip by pinching between fingers using a tissue.
  • Don’t burn a candle all the way down, put it out before it gets too close to the very bottom.
